When this data was incorporated into Brevard County's SWAMP database, fields were added to further help the county Stormwater program identify and analyze channels. Watershed Management began adding canal names using the \"Road Name\" field in the attributes. The canal names source is Public Works Road and Bridge area managers. Maps were created showing all the channels in Brevard and given to the area managers. They were tasked with identifying county maintained ditches by their common names.
